The Toronto Blue Jays are still in negotiations with free-agent outfielder Anthony Santander, and it looks like things have are getting closer to closing a deal.

The Blue Jays apparently made Santander an offer for $82 million over four years, paying him an average salary of $20.5 million per season, but he reportedly is looking for a five-to-six-year contract.

The Blue Jays have apparently raised their offer to free agent Anthony Santander

The Blue Jays seem to be right on the edge of signing Santander over the past week, as most insiders have listed them as the top team to land him this offseason as they have made the biggest offer so far.

According to reports, the Blue Jays have now raised their offer from $82 million, which is likely a five-year deal around $100 million, likely a little less since that is what he is looking for.

The Blue Jays are expecting to close the deal with Santander in the coming days after raising their offer, which seems to be around the number he is looking for with the correct term.

If the Blue Jays can land Santander, they will have finally made one solid signing this offseason and it will hopefully get the ball rolling for more deals to get done.

Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins has been taking his time so far this offseason and hopefully this signing will be the beginning of big things to come.
