After Wednesday's game got postponed, the New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles are playing a double-header on Thursday to finish their series. New York took the first game on Tuesday and can complete the series sweep if they go 2-0 on Thursday.
Heading into Thursday's game, the Mets had won five of their previous six games. After going through a rough patch in June, they climbed back to the top of the NL East standings, though they are now 0.5 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies for the division lead.
During their game against Baltimore, Mets OF Jesse Winker was removed from the game. After his exit, the team made an announcement and provided more clarity.
After being out of action for over two months due to an oblique strain, Winker made his return on Tuesday. However, the Buffalo native suffered another injury that will be worth monitoring.
According to the Mets' official X account, the team removed Winker from the game due to back tightness. Before exiting the game, Winker was 0-1 at the plate.
"Jesse Winker was removed from today's game with back tightness," the Mets wrote on X.

With New York playing just one more series against the Kansas City Royals before the All-Star break, it will be interesting to see how they handle Winker's injury. As it stands, it is a fair assumption that they will play it as safe as possible. However, it remains unknown how severe the injury is.
Winker suffering another injury in just his second game back is far from ideal. Hopefully for him and the Mets, it is not too severe, and he can make his return sooner rather than later.
