Mets Drop Carlos Beltrán News Ahead of Diamondbacks Matchup

Beltrán spent portions of seven seasons wearing a Mets uniform, during which he emerged as a standout performer. He earned five All-Star selections while with the club, delivering consistent production at the plate with a .280 batting average, 149 home runs, and 559 runs batted in across 839 games.

Originally selected by the Mets in the second round of the 1995 MLB Draft, Beltrán went on to enjoy a distinguished 20-year career in the major leagues. Beyond his time in New York, he suited up for several other teams, including the Kansas City Royals, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, and San Francisco Giants.

Across his entire MLB journey, the switch-hitting outfielder posted impressive career numbers, hitting .279 with 435 home runs, 1,587 RBIs, and 312 stolen bases in 2,586 games. His well-rounded skill set made him a constant threat both at the plate and on the basepaths throughout his professional tenure.

Beltrán’s most extended periods came with the Mets and Royals organizations, where he truly established himself as an elite talent. He received nine All-Star nods in total during his career and capped off his playing days by securing a World Series title with the Astros in 2017.

On the field in 2026, the Mets have started strong, compiling a 6-4 record through their first ten games of the season. This early success has fans optimistic as the team looks to improve upon recent campaigns and contend for a postseason berth.
