Mets Getting City Connect Uniforms in 2024
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

In 2021, Major League Baseball started City Connect uniforms for only a select few teams. Each season, the list of teams getting these uniforms has increased.

A couple days before pitchers and catchers are supposed to report to Spring Training, MLB announced that nine more clubs will be revealing City Connect uniforms for the 2024 season, which now includes the New York Mets.

It's going to be interesting to see what kind of design will be on these uniforms. It wouldn't be surprising if they were designed to have a message of the old time Mets, maybe even a big apple in the design.

For reference, the Washington Nationals' City Connect uniforms are cherry blossom themed due to the Cherry Blossoms that bloom during March and April in Washington DC.

Either way, New York's own City Connect uniforms will likely be made to show off the significance of the organization and the city as a whole.

The Mets are the first New York team to get these uniforms as the New York Yankees aren't one of the teams getting them in 2024.

It's quite possible that the Yankees wind up being the only team to not have one, which could be beneficial since the organization also heavily stands on tradition.

When it comes to City Connect uniforms, it can be a hit or miss with the fans.

Some love the design of the uniform, but some aren't so fond.

The Mets could be given some fantastic uniforms that everyone loves, but could also end up with a jersey that nobody is a fan of.

It's a risky proposition, but it will only be a matter of time before fans know how these new jerseys will look.
