Miami Marlins rookie Catcher Agustin Ramirez has continued to impress during his rookie campaign. He has been especially good on the road this year. He is hitting .280 on the road with 10 home runs and 22 RBI. He has 20 singles, 20 XBH, and 10 home runs through the first 33 road games of his career. The only player since 1901 to accomplish this feat in fewer career road games was Willie McCovey(32). Will the young catcher keep making history during his rookie year?

Ramirez made his debut with the Miami Marlins on April 21. He has been an integral part of the ballclub ever since. He came over to the Marlins in the marquee trade last season that sent Jazz Chisholm Jr. to The Bronx. Ramirez was the No. 2 prospect in Miami’s farm system before making his MLB debut. He has lived up to those lofty expectations thus far.
Ramirez and the Marlins return to the diamond tonight for the second game of their four-game set against the Cincinnati Reds. If the star catcher continues playing at such a high level, he will have a great case to be named the National League Rookie of the Year.
