Mike Trout appears ready to embrace a new era with the Los Angeles Angels after the franchise underwent a major ownership change.

Longtime owner Arte Moreno has agreed to sell a controlling interest in the Angels to Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke for a reported $4 billion, ushering in a significant change in Anaheim.

Trout addressed his future with the franchise following the announcement, making it clear that the ownership transition has not changed his plans.

When asked whether the change could influence his decision to remain with the Angels or waive his no-trade clause, Trout delivered a straightforward response.

Trout also acknowledged that a change was needed within the organization as the Angels look to move forward from a difficult stretch.

The Angels entered September at 53-86, tied with the Athletics for last place in the American League West and 17 games behind the division-leading Houston Astros.

The club is also approaching its 12th consecutive season without a postseason appearance, making the ownership transition particularly significant for the direction of the franchise.

Trout, meanwhile, has remained one of the team’s central pieces. Through 120 games, he is batting .239 with 20 home runs, 50 RBIs and 11 stolen bases while posting a .376 on-base percentage.

The three-time American League MVP also has a 3.3 WAR this season and remains under contract through 2030.

For now, Trout’s message is clear: He is excited about the change and intends to remain in Anaheim as the Angels begin another chapter.
