The entire baseball world is buzzing with talk of Milwaukee Brewers rookie phenom Jacob Misiorowski. His Major League debut back on June 12 was highly anticipated as he has long been considered one of the game’s top pitching prospects due to his blazing fastball. He did not disappoint.
In his very first Major League start, Misiorowski tossed five no-hit innings and struck out five while issuing four walks. His next time out on June 20, he threw six no-hit innings, becoming the first pitcher in the live ball era (since 1920) to begin his Big League career with 11 no-hit innings. He also struck out six.
And in his third start, Misiorowski became the second pitcher in franchise history (following Logan Henderson earlier this year) to win each of his first three starts, throwing five innings of shutout ball while striking out eight.
After a rough outing in his fourth start, the flamethrowing rookie bounced back in his fifth appearance, going six strong innings while allowing a run on four hits and a walk and striking out a career-high 12 batters.
Despite the fact that he has played in just five Major League games, Misiorowski was named to the National League All-Star team as a replacement for Chicago Cubs starter Matthew Boyd.
This selection caused a bit of controversy as some players were angered that they or their teammates were not chosen instead (even though Major League Baseball asked at least a dozen other pitchers, who all said no, before they approached Misiorowski).
But the phenom proved his selection to be a proper one, tossing a scoreless eighth inning during the 2025 MLB All-Star Game.
And prior to that, Brewers legend Robin Yount gave his thoughts on how he would approach hitting against his old team’s newest star:

“Run,” Yount hilariously quipped.
Misiorowski is one of the hardest throwing pitchers in the game right now, frequently eclipsing 100 miles per hour with his fastball, and sometimes getting his velocity up to 102+. Additionally, he has a slider that clocks in at around 98 miles per hour.
Of course, Yount is no stranger to facing hard-throwing pitchers. The 3,000-Hit Club member batted .232 with two home runs and 10 RBI against the legendary fireballer Nolan Ryan (79 plate appearances). The Brewers legend also faced the likes of J.R. Richard and Dwight Gooden, both of whom are considered two of the hardest-throwing pitchers in baseball history.
And he never ran from them. But he says he would run from Misiorowski.
