Following a four-year gap between major league contests in Dyersville, Iowa, MLB announced on Friday that the Field of Dreams game will return in 2027 for the second consecutive year with an in-league matchup.

Thursday’s contest featured the Philadelphia Phillies against the Minnesota Twins, which saw the Phillies blast their way to a 7-1 victory on the back of a big two home run game from Kyle Schwarber.

The game was a sit to see and a true celebration of the game of baseball. With the cornfields as the backdrop, the game is played in a custom-built ballpark adjacent to the iconic filming site of the 1989 movie Field of Dreams.

Six teams thus far have had the honor of playing there, with the Yankees and White Sox in 2021, the Cubs and Red in 2022 and the Phillies and Twins in 2026.

On Friday morning it was revealed that the 2027 matchup will feature the Boston Red Sox against the Kansas City Royals.

The game is set to take place on Thursday, August 12th 2027.

Boston and Kansas City will get to experience baseball heaven, walking out of the corn fields and sharing the field with many different members of the MLB Hall of Fame.

It is sure to be a beautiful night of baseball, like each other matchup has been.
