MLB Makes Big Ronald Acuna Jr. Announcement on Tuesday

The Atlanta Braves are in the second game of a four-game series against the New York Mets on Tuesday night, and over the past two weeks, they’ve dominated the matchup—winning the last four meetings between the two teams.

A major reason for the Braves’ recent success is none other than superstar Ronald Acuna Jr., who has battled his way back to elite form and exceeded expectations following multiple serious injuries.

In 2021, Acuna tore his ACL, requiring a lengthy rehab process. Then, in 2024, while attempting to steal third base, he tore his left ACL, sidelining him for another full year.

He returned to the Braves' lineup on May 23 and has been one of the best players in baseball ever since. On Tuesday, he officially etched his name into the history books.

MLB announced that Acuna Jr. has recorded the 200th stolen base of his MLB career, making him just the 8th active player to reach that milestone.

Since returning from injury in late May, Acuna has been on a tear—batting an impressive .396 with 40 hits, nine home runs, 16 RBIs, and three stolen bases entering Tuesday’s game. He’s currently slugging .713 with a remarkable 1.213 OPS.
