After getting swept by the Baltimore Orioles, the Los Angeles Angels have lost three consecutive games and four of their last seven. Despite their recent struggles, the Angels are 33-37 and are just three games behind the Seattle Mariners for second place in the AL West.

As the Angels look to get back on track, they will kick off a four-game series against the New York Yankees, who are also fresh off a sweep at the hands of the Boston Red Sox, on Monday night.

Ahead of Monday's game, the MLB made a major announcement regarding Angels star Mike Trout.

As Los Angeles looks to regain some momentum and climb the AL West standings, they will continue to rely on their star outfielder. Despite missing a month of action due to a knee injury, Trout made his return at the end of May and has played a big role in the Angels' success since.

Ahead of Monday's game, the MLB announced that Trout is the leading All-Star vote-getter for all left fielders in the AL with 475,265 votes.

Trout has mostly struggled this season, but he has been fantastic since making his return.

In his last 15 games, the New Jersey native is batting .302 with an OPS of .821. Additionally, he has recorded two home runs, nine RBIs, and eight walks across that span.

Though his best days are behind him, Trout is continuing to prove that he still has a lot left in the tank when he is healthy, and at this rate, he could become a 12-time All-Star by the end of the year.
