Aaron Judge is putting together another MVP-caliber season for the New York Yankees. As of early June, the slugger played in 58 games and is among the league leaders in nearly every offensive category.
Despite dropping two of three on the road in Los Angeles over the weekend, the Yankees remain in first place in the American League East. And even in those losses, Judge continued to shine.
He homered in the first inning of Friday’s opener to give New York an early 1-0 lead. That was his 19th home run of the season. On Saturday, he was the Yankees’ entire offense, launching home runs No. 20 and 21.
MLB took notice. The league announced Tuesday that Judge remains atop the latest American League MVP poll, which is voted on by a panel of experts.

Heading into Tuesday’s home matchup with the Guardians, the Yankees are 36-22 and still leading the AL East by 5.5 games over Toronto.
