If you'd never heard of Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski before Thursday night, we guarantee that you have now.
Misiorowski not only turned heads in his MLB debut, but he quickly went viral during Thursday's 6-0 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. There were no early jitters for Misiorowski, who fired five no-hit innings before leaving with a quadriceps injury.
Major League Baseball reported that Misiorowski fired 14 pitches at 100.0 mph and above, four coming in the first inning. Imagine entering the batter's box and watching a rookie throw a pitch at 102.2 mph.
Those running the league's official X/Twitter account were clearly impressed.
"This is just bonkers ," the league posted.

Misiorowski worked around four walks and threw 49 of his 81 pitches for strikes, not at all a bad debut for a pitcher who only turned 23 in April.
“I’ve been playing this day out in my head forever,” Misiorowski admitted.
“I thought I was going to give up a few hits; get your welcome to The Show," Misiorowski continued. "But I kind of rolled with it, and now we’re here.”
According to Major League Baseball, only two true Brewers starting pitchers—Wily Peralta in 2013 and Brandon Woodruff in 2019—had thrown triple-digit pitches since the league began tracking pitches in 2013. Reliever Trevor Megill threw six as an opener.
And then came Misiorowski, who resembled a video game create-a-player with his ratings maxed out. Misiorowski struck out five and fooled Cardinals hitters all night, helping the Brewers move ahead of St. Louis for second place in the NL Central.
“I think next time we see him,” Cardinals catcher Pedro Pagés said, “maybe we’ll have a better approach against him.”
Misiorowski said he expects to make his next start, and the Brewers had not said anything contrary as of publication.
