MLB Star's Postgame Interview Gets Interrupted By Teammate's Fart

San Francisco Giants pitcher Logan Webb was excellent in his most recent start, striking out 12 while allowing only one run and four hits against the Los Angeles Angels.

Webb didn't issue a walk in the start, which put him in elite company among Giants pitchers. Madison Bumgarner, Tim Lincecum, and Juan Marichal are the only other Giants pitchers to have multiple starts with 10+ strikeouts and no walks since 1983.

As Webb was being asked about his feat after the game, an unexpected interruption derailed his press conference.

One of Webb's teammates let out an audible fart as the question was being asked, causing Webb to laugh before apologizing to the reporters near his locker.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry, guys,” Webb said, clearly trying to hide his amusement before admitting that "farts are always funny, not going to lie."

“Any time you’re in a list with those guys, I think it’s cool,” Webb would say to the interviewer's original question.

“I look up to those guys. I grew up in the area, and I grew up watching those guys. Any time you’re in a list with those guys, I think you’re doing all right.”

What may not have been funny for Webb is coming away with no decision after an excellent day on the mound on Friday. The Giants would be shut out by the Angels, losing 0-2 in the first game of a three-day weekend set in Anaheim.

The Angels will end their road trip after this series, as they'll head back to Oracle Park for series against the Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers. They'll end the month with a brief two-game trip to meet their NL West division rivals, the San Diego Padres.

Webb is 2-1 in five starts this season, posting a 2.40 ERA. He was selected as an All-Star for the first time in his career last season. Webb led the National League with 204 2/3 innings pitched last year, becoming the first Giants player to do so in back-to-back years since 1970.

We'll see if the Giants can provide Webb with more run support - or any at all - when he makes his next start this season.
