Coming off a 1-2 day in strikeout props, we're looking to bounce back with a winning day on Wednesday. Let's get back on track with our three favorite K props for the MLB slate.
Rangers at Diamondbacks, 3:40 p.m. ET
Kelly is coming off an eight-strikeout performance against the San Francisco Giants in his last start, but that makes this a great sell-high spot on him. The Arizona Diamondbacks righty went under this line in five of his last seven starts, and he ranks in the 21st percentile in K rate (18.9 percent) and the 17th percentile in whiff rate (21.2 percent). This also isn't a great matchup against the Texas Rangers, which have the fourth-lowest strikeout rate against righties this month (19.6 percent).
Padres at Mariners, 9:40 p.m. ET
We're back to fading starting pitchers going up against the San Diego Padres, which has been quite a profitable strategy this season. The Padres have by far the lowest whiff rate (19.8 percent) and the highest chase contact rate (63.3 percent) in MLB this season. They also have the lowest strikeout rate against righties over the last two weeks (17.0 percent). Bryan Woo has been great for the Seattle Mariners, but he's not doing it by racking up strikeouts. He ranks only in the 15th percentile in whiff rate and the 29th percentile in strikeout rate this year.
Brewers at Giants, 9:45 p.m. ET
Rea ranks in the 24th percentile in strikeout rate (19.5 percent) and the seventh percentile in whiff rate (18.9 percent) this season, but he's been much better at forcing swings and misses of late. The Milwaukee Brewers right-hander has cleared this line in three of his last four starts and seven of his last nine, and this is a great matchup for him. The Giants have the second-highest strikeout rate against righties over the last two weeks (29.3 percent).
