MLB strikeout props for Thu. 6/13: Happy Fade Patrick Corbin Day

Coming off our first losing day in a while, we're now 5-4 in strikeout props this week with two days left to grind out a profit. Let's go through Thursday's MLB slate and target our three favorite K props for the day.

Reynaldo Lopez under 4.5 Ks (-110 DraftKings)

Braves at Orioles, 1:05 p.m. ET

Reynaldo Lopez is coming off performances of seven and eight strikeouts in his last two starts, but this is a much tougher matchup against the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles have the sixth-lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching over the last month (19.5 percent). In 55 combined plate appearances against Lopez, current Orioles hitters are batting .360 with a 10.9 percent K rate. This line is a touch high for this matchup.

Patrick Corbin under 3.5 Ks (-120 DK)

Nationals at Tigers, 1:10 p.m. ET

It's time once again for one of our favorite sports betting activities — fading Patrick Corbin in strikeout props. The Washington Nationals left-hander ranks in the fifth percentile in strikeout rate and the 13th percentile in whiff rate this season, and he has an abysmal track record against the Detroit Tigers. In 62 combined plate appearances against Corbin, current Tigers hitters are batting .407 with a .405 xwOBA and a comically low strikeout rate of 6.5 percent.

Lance Lynn over 5.5 Ks (+130 DK)

Pirates at Cardinals, 2:15 p.m. ET

Lance Lynn doesn't have great swing-and-miss metrics this season. The St. Louis Cardinals veteran ranks in the 29th percentile in chase rate, the 45th percentile in whiff rate and the 46th percentile in strikeout rate, but this is a solid matchup for him. Lynn likes to pound the zone and challenge hitters with his fastball, and the Pittsburgh Pirates rank 28th in MLB in whiff rate and 26th in zone contact rate. Current Pittsburgh hitters also have a 29.8 percent K rate against Lynn. Lynn has the ability to pop in the strikeout department, and this seems like a good time for one of those performances.
