New York Yankees Receive Shocking Prediction Before 2025 MLB Season

After making a run all the way to the World Series and coming up short last season, the New York Yankees are hoping to take the next step and win it all in 2025.

Unfortunately, they are coming off of a roller-coaster offseason.

Juan Soto ended up leaving the franchise to join the crosstown rival New York Mets. Losing him will be impossible to completely replace, but the Yankees did their best.

Among the additions that they made were Cody Bellinger, Paul Goldschmidt, Max Fried, and Devin Williams. There were other moves made as well, but those were the headliners.

Now, a brutal and shocking prediction has been made for New York ahead of the season.

MLB.com's Will Leitch has predicted that the Yankees not only won't win the World Series, but that they will end up missing the playoffs altogether.

Should New York end up missing the playoffs, it could lead to major changes next offseason. There is too much talent on the roster to not even get into the postseason.

A lot of Leitch's prediction hinges on the fact that the Yankees are going to rely too heavily on superstar outfielder and slugger Aaron Judge.

"The question always looms over this franchise: What if something happens to Judge? He’s a player who has dealt with injury issues in the past, he’s getting older (turning 33 on April 26) and, lest you forget, he’s huge," Leitch wrote. "And if the Yankees lose Judge for any period of time … they kind of look like they’d be toast? Don’t forget, when Judge was limited to 106 games in 2023, this team went only 82-80, including 25-31 without him."

It's possible that New York could miss the postseason. However, it is far from the most likely scenario.
