Oddsmakers Have Forgotten About This Yankees Rookie

It’s hard to imagine Jasson Dominguez being overlooked, but here we are. The New York Yankee’s rookie was the most-anticipated prospect in recent years, and came through the minors with a strong social media game that earned him a cool nickname for his “other-worldly” talents.

According to oddsmakers, the Martian was a favorite to win the American League Rookie of the Year award in the 2025 season.

But on a team with Aaron Judge, Dominguez has played the role of rookie and fallen out of the spotlight.

According to BetMGM, the AL Rookie of the Year race has already narrowed to a short list of favorites. Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson currently leads the board at -105, giving him better than a 50% chance to win the award. Red Sox second baseman Kristian Campbell sits at +250, and no other player is listed better than 10-to-1.

But on the field, Domínguez is forcing his way back into the conversation.

The 22-year-old Yankees outfielder leads all AL rookies with five home runs and 13 extra-base hits. He’s second in RBIs (19), slugging percentage (.463), and OPS+ (127), and his 0.9 WAR has him tied for second among rookie position players.

With the Yankees battling injuries and searching for consistent offense, Domínguez has survived learning left field in the big leagues and thrived under the pressure. His power has always been his calling card, but now he’s turning that potential into real production on the big stage.

If he keeps this pace, it won’t be long before the oddsmakers can adjust the board again.
