The bats are coming to life for the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday against the Houston Astros at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Md.

In the bottom of the fifth, Adley Rutschman hit a grand slam to give the Orioles a 5-0 lead, and it was almost caught by Astros center fielder Brice Matthews.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Orioles second baseman Jeremiah Jackson followed suit with another grand slam to give Baltimore a commanding 10-1 lead.

This marks the first time Baltimore has hit two grand slams in the same game since 2015, and it is just the eighth time in franchise history.

Veteran pitcher Chris Bassitt tossed a gem for the home team, going 6.2 innings with just one run on seven hits while striking out seven batters in his longest start of the season.

And, having tons of run support helps.

Coming into Thursday, the Orioles had nine runs combined in the past three games, and this offensive barrage came in the first game of a doubleheader.
