The headlines around the baseball world have been revolving around the Boston Red Sox for their stunning decision to trade away disgruntled designated hitter, Rafael Devers.
That choice came with plenty of consequences. But for one player not on either the San Francisco Giants or Red Sox, the trade was great news.
During an interview on Foul Territory, Baltimore Orioles designated hitter Ryan O'Hearn sent a message to Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow. O'Hearn's message was a joke, but also partially serious.
"I just wanna shoutout Craig Breslow real quick. Appreciate you, man."

"I just want to shout out Craig Breslow real quick." O'Hearn joked. "Appreciate you, man. Helping me get (first) in the (All-Star) standings.
Devers was the leading vote-getter in the American League at designated hitter. But, upon his trade to the National League, the next player with the most votes was O'Hearn.
That thrust O'Hearn into the AL All-Star starting lineup, which would be O'Hearn's first appearance in the All-Star game, and likely help him earn a large payday in the offseason.
In the first round of voting for the All-Star game, Devers had 796,382 votes for the AL designated hitter spot. But, with him now in the NL, O'Hearn's 353,029 votes are the most among all AL designated hitters.
While things could still change, O'Hearn does have a solid argument for an All-Star spot. He's batting .306 with 10 home runs and 64 hits, along with an .878 OPS and a 152 OPS+. The Orioles slugger has been one of the best hitters in baseball, though he would've been second place to Devers in the AL All-Star voting.
However, with Breslow trading Devers to an NL team, O'Hearn is now slotted to be the starting AL designated hitter. In a joking tone, he thanked Breslow for putting him in a position to earn his first All-Star nod.
Though said jokingly, O'Hearn is likely thankful for Devers being traded, as getting to start in the All-Star game is an incredible accomplishment. O'Hearn now has a solid chance to earn that distinction, and do so in his eighth season in the MLB.
