Ozzie Albies hit .237 with a .293 on-base percentage, a .392 slugging percentage, 22 home runs and 73 RBIs in 162 games for the Atlanta Braves in 2026, then reflected on the season in an Instagram post on Thursday.
The 29-year-old second baseman shared the message after the Los Angeles Dodgers eliminated the Braves in four games in the NLDS on Wednesday.
Albies wrapped up his 10th season with the Braves, earning his fourth All-Star selection. With his numbers at the plate and in the field, he helped the Braves to a 94-68 record, bouncing back from a 76-86 finish in 2025.
During the Braves’ postseason run, Albies hit .250 with two home runs, five RBIs and a 1.067 OPS. In the NLDS against the Dodgers, he hit .200 with three hits, a home run and two RBIs, but the Dodgers’ elite pitching limited him.
“It’s hard to say goodbye to a season we poured so much into,” Albies wrote. “But even though it didn’t end the way we wanted, what a ride it was.”
Albies wrote that baseball is constantly on his mind and that putting on the uniform every day is a blessing he will never take for granted. He also credited his teammates for how they pick each other up through the highs and lows of a long 162-game season.
“I’m grateful,” Albies wrote. “For my teammates, for you, and for another year of playing the game I’ve loved since I was a little kid. Thank you, Braves Country. Always giving you everything I’ve got.”
Atlanta, which has won one postseason series since its 2021 World Series title, now turns to a long offseason.
