The Philadelphia Phillies’ offense had a performance for the ages this afternoon at home against the Seattle Mariners. Philadelphia prevailed 11-2 behind a whopping 20 hits. Designated Hitter Kyle Schwarber led the charge with 5 RBI in the rout. Shortstop Trea Turner and Second Baseman Bryson Stott added 2 RBI apiece.
The Phillies gave Starting Pitcher Jesus Luzardo more than enough run support. He surrendered one earned run over six innings of work and punched out 12. Today’s perfor mance helped the Phillies finish off a three-game sweep of the Mariners. Can the offense of the Philadelphia Phillies keep it going?
Philadelphia’s strong play, coupled with the struggles of the New York Mets, has helped Philadelphia open up a six-game lead in the National League East. As was on display this afternoon, Philadelphia’s offense is a great unit. They are third in the league in batting average, 10th in home runs, and ninth in runs scored. Schwarber has been a force on offense in 2025. He is second in the league in home runs and leading in RBI by a wide margin.
The Philadelphia Phillies have a day off tomorrow before welcoming the Washington Nationals to town for a three-game set beginning on Friday. If Philadelphia’s offense can keep playing this well, no team will want to face them come October.
