The Philadelphia Phillies have struggled mightily over their last 10 games. They have gone 1-9 and sent tumbling down the standings. They have been outscored 60-30 over their last 10 games. Their recent form came as quite a shock because the Philadelphia Phillies were one of the league’s best teams before this slide. The team’s only win over their last 10 ballgames was on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays on June 3. Will the Philadelphia Phillies get back on track soon?

Philadelphia’s recent form combined with the strong play of the New York Mets has the Phillies in second place in the National League East at 37-28. Philadelphia has a great offense, but their stats have taken a hit over the last 10 games. They are 12th in the league in batting average, 14th in home runs, and 10th in runs scored. Designated Hitter Kyle Schwarber is fourth in home runs and ninth in OPS. To make matter matters worse, First Baseman Bryce Harper is on the IL with a wrist injury.

Philadelphia’s pitching staff has also been middling. They are 19th in ERA, 19th in WHIP, and 22nd in opposing batting average. Starting Pitcher Zack Wheeler is seventh in the league in strikeouts and sixth in WHIP.

The Philadelphia Phillies will look to turn the page when they start a three-game series at home tomorrow against the Chicago Cubs. Philadelphia has a talented roster. They have not played like it as of late. Luckily for them, there are still 100 games left in the regular season.
