The Philadelphia Phillies will be without their All-Star third baseman, Alec Bohm, for Game 2 against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. According to MLB.com’s Todd Zoleck, Bohm finished Monday’s 6-4 victory over the Giants with tightness in his groin.
Manager Rob Thomson isn’t too worried about Bohm's injury and believes he should be ready on Wednesday. Bohm went 2-4 in the win, having a single to right field in the fourth inning and an RBI double to right field in the seventh inning.
Bohm is currently the Phillies' team leader in RBI (eight) and is third on the team in walks (four). The 29-year-old's .205 batting average is five points higher than that of first basemanBryce Harper (.200), who had a breakout game against the Giants in Tuesday night's victory.
Alec Bohm finished last night’s game with tightness in his groin, which is why he is not in tonight‘s lineup. Rob Thomson said he thinks Bohm will be OK tomorrow.

Entering the last year of his contract before becoming a free agent, Bohm has a lot of pressure on him to do well this season. Bohm is also dealing with personal issues off the field — suing his parents for damages and mishandling personal accounts — which adds to the pressure.
Coming off another productive season in 2025, hitting .287 with a .740 OPS, the power numbers have never been there for Bohm, with a career-high of 20 home runs in 2023. Bohm finished last season with 11 home runs and 18 doubles after hitting 15 home runs and 44 doubles in 2024.
Despite his lack of power, Bohm has been one of the Phillies' main run producers, finishing 2024 and 2025 with 97 RBI. If Bohm can get back to his All-Star form and get back to being that run producer, Bohm will be giving the Phillies and other teams something to think about next offseason.
