With Spring Training wrapping up and Opening Day on the horizon, the Philadelphia Phillies continue to trim their roster to 26 players. On Sunday, March 16, they made two more roster moves, reassigning players to Minor League Camp.

The Phillies announced Sunday that two players were being reassigned to Minor League Camp . The players being reassigned are catcher Payton Henry and infielder Rafael Lantigua.

Henry had just eight at-bats for the Phillies during spring training and didn't get a hit. But Henry had a run batted in. In his limited Major League experience, Henry has a .143 batting average in 28 at-bats.

Across his eight-year Minor League Baseball career, Henry has a .254 batting average and a .738 OPS. In 2018, Henry was awarded the Rawlings MiLB Gold Glove award with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Infielder Rafael Lantigua has not made his Major League debut but has been a solid hitter in the Minors. With the Phillies in Spring Training, Lantigua had 22 at-bats, hitting .182 with one home run and five batted in.

In his seven years in the Minor Leagues, Lantigua has hit a .277 batting average with a .769 OPS. His best season in the Minors came in 2023, where in 465 at-bats, Lantigua had 142 hits, 101 runs, 40 doubles, 12 home runs, 85 runs batted in, and an OPS of .894.

Lantigua and Henry were reassigned to the Phillies Minor League Camp as the Phillies continued trimming the roster down to 26 players for Opening Day.

Phillies' Opening Day is March 27 in Washington, D.C., against the Washington Nationals.
