Phillies Reveal Brutal Injury News on Key Deadline Addition

With Jose Alvarado and Orion Kerkering among those who struggled, the loss of another arm further thins the bridge to closer Jhoan Duran. Kilian’s absence will test the depth of a unit already under scrutiny as the team fights to stay in the National League wild-card race.

A win on Sunday kept Philadelphia at least a full game ahead of the San Diego Padres in the standings. That margin matters for a roster that featured six All-Stars this season and is determined not to let a promising year slip away.
