Andrew Painter will be the starting pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 1. The 23-year-old has impressed on the mound but is, understandably, a bit inconsistent as a rookie. Thus far, he has logged 18.1 innings in his four outings with a 4.42 ERA and 20 strikeouts.
Grant Holmes will take the mound for the Atlanta Braves on Friday. The 30-year-old right-hander is enjoying a good run after coming into the Braves’ rotation due to injuries in spring training. He pitched 26.1 innings in his five starts so far, with 20 strikeouts and a 3.42 ERA.
