Stuart Davis-USA TODAY NETWORK

The New York Yankees have had no shortage of superstars on their roster over the years. From Babe Ruth to Aaron Judge and everyone in between, Yankees fans have never had a problem finding a great player to cheer for. One star who played from 1936-1951 was Joe DiMaggio.

DiMaggio, an outfielder, was a 13-time All-Star, three-time MVP and nine-time World Series champion. He recorded Hall of Fame numbers despite missing three MLB seasons for military service.

DiMaggio finished his career with a .325/.398/.579 slash line to go along 361 home runs. For DiMaggio, giving his best every single game was of the utmost importance.

Joe DiMaggio's Quote is an Important Reminder

You never know when someone may see you do something for the very first time. Perhaps it's simply the way you treat others. First impressions go a long way.

DiMaggio knew that there was always a chance that someone was seeing him play for the first time. The Yankees star wanted to give his best every day as a result. There were surely days where he did not feel like giving 100 percent on the field. Yet, he pushed through and ended up having a legendary overall MLB career.

I played my best every day. You never know when someone may be seeing you play for the first time.
