The Texas Rangers are calling up infield prospect Cameron Cauley ahead of Monday's series opener against the Cleveland Guardians, according to Robert Murray of FanSided. Cauley is expected to make his big-league debut after spending the first half of the season with Triple-A Round Rock. Because Cauley was not on the Rangers' 40-man roster, the club will need a corresponding move before his promotion becomes official.
Cauley, 23, is a shortstop and second baseman in his fifth season with the Rangers organization after being selected in the third round of the 2021 MLB Draft out of Barbers Hill High School in Texas. He has developed into one of the organization's top middle-infield prospects thanks to his speed and defensive versatility. In 74 games for Round Rock this season, he batted .262 with a .363 on-base percentage, a .770 OPS, eight home runs, 29 RBIs, and 29 stolen bases.
The Rangers are calling up infield prospect Cameron Cauley, sources say. Cauley, 23, was a third round pick in 2021 and has 29 steals while hitting .262/.363/.407 with a .770 OPS in 74 games in Triple-A this season.

Cauley has steadily climbed through the Rangers' farm system, advancing from High-A Hickory to Double-A Frisco before establishing himself at Triple-A this season. His production at each level earned him his first opportunity in the big leagues.
During Spring Training, manager Skip Schumaker spoke with MLB.com reporter Kennedi Landry and praised the young infielder.
"He hits the ball all over the field. He's walking. He's not punching out. He's playing a good shortstop, a good second base... He's got a good attitude about it. He's got grit. He's got a fight."
Texas is also expected to create room on the 40-man roster, with injured right-hander Jack Leiter a candidate to move to the 60-day injured list as the club finalizes other roster moves.
Cauley's arrival gives Schumaker another versatile defender and an elite baserunner at a useful time. The Rangers are playing 14 games in 14 days, and his ability to play multiple positions should help keep the regular lineup fresh while adding a speed threat off the bench.
Texas enters the series with a 42-42 record, sitting atop the American League West after winning four straight games. The club opens its three-game set against the Guardians on Monday at Progressive Field, where the remaining roster moves are expected to be announced before first pitch.
With a division lead to protect and a postseason push underway, Cauley arrives at a moment when depth and versatility carry real value for a Rangers roster managing a demanding schedule.
