The Boston Red Sox lost their third-straight game, this time losing to the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2. The Brewers sent the Red Sox two games under .500 at 27 and 29, further putting the Red Sox behind the New York Yankees for the American League East lead.
After the game, Red Sox outfielder Rob Refsnyder made a ridiculous claim about the team, especially coming from a player. In a postgame interview from NESN on Twitter/X, Refsnyder said, "We suck right now."

His ridiculous claim comes after he aired out his complaints regarding the current trajectory for the Red Sox. "I'm tired of losing," Refsnyder said. "I'm tired of losing close games. We just need to figure it out."
In the top of the seventh inning against the Brewers, Refsnyder came into the game and pinch-hit for David Hamilton. In his two plate appearances, Refsnyder walked both times. While he was later lifted for Ceddane Rafaela to pinch-run, Refsnyder made a positive contribution in limited time.
But his contribution, along with the rest of the Red Sox's contributions, wasn't enough to beat the Brewers. The loss put the Red Sox in fourth place in the AL East, and seven games behind the Yankees.
While some in the Red Sox fandom may believe that the team isn't great or playing well, it's an entirely different thing for a player to speak on it. Refsynder's comments on the team's performance are out of line and detrimental to the team.
Refsnyder, in his age-34 season, has been a decent bench bat for the Red Sox. But, his latest claim saying the Red Sox suck is a step too far for the veteran outfielder. Nothing may come of it, but Refsnyder's comments won't help the Red Sox get out of the funk the team is in.
