The Boston Red Sox have a trio of star prospects that have been making noise in their path to MLB.

Outfielder Roman Anthony is among the group, ranking as baseball's No. 2 overall prospect and No. 1 overall positional prospect according to MLB.com.

The 20-year-old posted a .272/.403/.466 slash line in AAA last season. His MLB.com scouting report describes his plate presence with "advanced swing decisions, quick stroke and growing strength [that] allow him to make more consistent contact and generate higher exit velocities than most players his age."

The Red Sox lost Thursday's MLB Spring Breakout Game in Port Charlotte, Fla. 7-5 to the Tampa Bay Rays' prospects, but Anthony still delivered the moment of the night.

Anthony was met with "overrated!" chants from the crowd and seamlessly responded by blasting a home run into right field.

Outfielder Kristian Campbell (No. 7 overall) and shortstop Marcelo Mayer (No. 12 overall), who round out the touted threesome, also launched their own long balls in the game.

“I think any time we get to play together, it's enjoyable,” said Anthony. “So it’s fun. It was good. Honestly, more than just the three of us, playing with these guys we don't get to play with every day, and seeing some of these guys, seeing some of the young talent we have, the guys at the lower levels, it's exciting.”

Campbell's home run was also in a critical moment. With two outs in the top of the third inning, the right-handed hitter smacked an opposite-field, two-run homer off Rays No. 11 prospect Trevor Harrison.

“Gap to gap,” said Campell. “That’s my power, is going gap to gap, to the big part of the field. Just try to hit the ball hard and in the air and good things happen.”
