Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora revealed on Instagram that he has officially proposed to his partner, Angelica Feliciano.

“To be continued,” Cora posted on Thursday.

“Te amo! Juntos hasta viejitos,” Feliciano commented, which translates to, “I love you! Together until we’re old.”

The announcement comes less than two weeks after Cora and Feliciano ran the New York City Marathon together. Cora completed the race in 4:37:51, while Feliciano finished in 5:00:17.

Cora and Feliciano are both from Puerto Rico, and he has known the Feliciano family for decades. Both Cora and Angelica’s brother, Jesús, played in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ farm system during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

They later reunited on the 2010 New York Mets, when Cora was a backup infielder and Jesús Feliciano made his MLB debut, hitting .231 with a .563 OPS as a 31-year-old rookie.

What to Know About Alex Cora and Angelica Feliciano

In a 2024 interview with the Boston Globe, Cora and Angelica discussed their relationship shortly after joining her father, Jesús, in Miami to celebrate his induction into the Caribbean Series Hall of Fame. Only months earlier, Cora had been inducted into the Puerto Rican Sports Hall of Fame.

“I’m very proud of what they’ve accomplished on the field, but for people to recognize what they’ve accomplished off the field means more,” Angelica said. “I understand the preparation that goes into it, the sacrifices that come into play through this profession. I love it and I’m proud of it.”

Cora has managed the Boston Red Sox for seven seasons across two stints. He is 610-524 over that span, leading the team to a World Series title in 2018. He and Boston mutually parted ways in January 2020 after Major League Baseball announced his role in the Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scandal, resulting in a suspension for the shortened 2020 season.

The Red Sox rehired Cora in November 2020, and he has held the position since. Boston went 89-73 last season, reaching the postseason for the first time since 2021.

“The Red Sox, the whole madness of Boston, winning the World Series, the suspension — without her, no way I survive this,” Cora said in 2024. “I appreciate everybody in the family. They understand how it works. What their family has meant to me has been amazing. They’ve been a rock. They’ve helped me overcome a lot of stuff.”

Cora is under contract with the Red Sox through the 2027 season. His 610 wins rank third behind Joe Cronin (1,071) and Terry Francona (744). He is vying to join Francona (2004 and 2007) and Bill Carrigan (1915 and 1916) as the only managers to win multiple championships with the Red Sox.
