Reds Double-A team scores seven runs, wins despite being no-hit

The Chattanooga Lookouts, the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, won one of the wildest baseball games you will ever see on Saturday evening, defeating Rocket City by a 7-5 score despite being no-hit.

Yes. You read that correctly.

They scored seven runs, they recorded zero hits and they won the game.

How in the world does that happen, you ask? Well, Rocket City had an absolutely horrendous top of the seventh inning that saw it walk six batters, hit three more, commit an error and throw a wild pitch.

During the 2022 Major League season the Reds actually lost a 1-0 game to the Pittsburgh Pirates despite throwing a no-hitter, and that was obviously noteworthy. But it was also at least somewhat understandable because it only took one run to get there.

But seven runs?

That is what takes it from improbable to just completely ridiculous.

Rocket City's Ben Joyce took the loss for walking four of the batters and giving up five runs in his two-thirds of an inning. Eric Torres followed that up by walking two more and giving up two runs.

Brutal loss for Rocket city. Improbable win for Chattanooga.
