Report: Giants trade RHP Justin Garza to Mets

The New York Mets acquired right-hander Justin Garza from the San Francisco Giants on Saturday for cash considerations, the New York Post reported.

Garza, 31, has appeared in 38 total MLB games over two separate seasons. In 2021, he went 2-1 with a 4.71 ERA in 21 games as a member of the Cleveland Guardians. He returned to the majors in 2023 with the Boston Red Sox, going 0-2 with a 7.36 ERA across 17 appearances.

Garza signed a minor league deal with the Giants and in 19 relief appearances at Triple-A Sacramento this season, he is 1-2 with a 6.11 ERA.
