Former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jacob Hurtubise has been claimed by the Seattle Mariners, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
Hurtubise made Cincinnati's opening day roster and appeared in 12 games this season for the Reds. He went 1-12 with a walk and six strikeouts.
After being sent to Triple-A Louisville, Hurtubise continued to struggle, slashing just .144/.336/.186 in 34 games with the Bats.
The Reds designated him for assignment on June 14 when they acquired Ryan Vilade off of waivers from the Cardinals.
Vilade has a .141/.200/.188 slash line, one home run and five RBI in 27 career big league games.
