The Diamondbacks will look to win the series over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday night in a crucial matchup at Chase Field.
Diamondbacks were unable to capitalize on the late-game heroics from Ketel Marte last night as they dropped the third game of the series in extra innings by a score of 6-5.
Brandon Pfaadt will look to get back into the win column on Thursday for Arizona. In his last three outings, Pfaadt has been able to go at least five innings while allowing 15 hits and nine earned runs in those starts. The games were winnable, but the offense was unable to give him the run support he needed. Pfaadt on the season has an 8-5 record with a 5.38 ERA.
Former Arizona Diamondback Robbie Ray will be on the mound today for the San Francisco Giants. Ray has been stellar this season with an 8-3 record at 2.75 ERA. In Chicago against the White Sox, Ray pitched six innings while only allowing one earned run in his last start.

Arizona has shown they are able to keep their foot on the gas pedal if they jump out to an early lead. That will be key for the Snakes again on Thursday night as they look to wrap the series up with a win instead of a tie. First pitch between the D-Backs and the Giants is at 6:40 on Thursday night at Chase Field.
