Shohei Ohtani Had No Words for Dodgers Announcement on Tuesday

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the midst of a four-game series against the New York Mets, currently down 0-1 in the series. 

Los Angeles sits at the top of the NL West with a 36-24 record. 

During their road to the World Series, looking to win back-to-back Commissioner's Trophies. Last year, the Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees 4-1 in the World Series, hoisting their first trophy since 2020.

Before then, the Dodgers hadn't won a World Series since 1988. 

Now, Shohei Ohtani puts the Dodgers in position to compete for a World Series as long as he's rostered. 

He's having an incredible season in Los Angeles, having recently earned the NL Player of the Month award for May. 

Ohtani reacted to the news online, sharing the post from the Los Angeles Dodgers' official social media account. 

He shared the news with over 9.6 million followers. Ohtani also later resposted the MLB's announcement, which gave a nod to New York Yankees star Aaron Judge, who won the AL Player of the Month award. 

Throughout the season, his second year with the Los Angeles Dodgers after starting his career with the Los Angeles Angels, Shohei Ohtani has posted 23 touchdowns with a 1.047 OPS and a .292 batting average. 

In May, Ohtani posted 15 home runs with a 1.180 OPS and a .309 batting average. 

Shohei Ohtani is in clear position to earn the fourth MVP award of his career while looking to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to their second straight World Series appearance.
