The Atlanta Braves have had an excellent first month of the 2026 MLB season, currently sitting with the best record in the league at 20-9. Making matters even more impressive is the fact that the Braves have done all of this with multiple starting pitchers yet to play due to injury, including Spencer Strider.

Now, the Braves have gotten an update on when they can expect Strider back in the lineup after his stint in the minor leagues.

“Strider is slated to start Sunday at Coors Field,” reported Mark Bowman of MLB.com on X, formerly Twitter, referencing an upcoming game against the Colorado Rockies.

Strider was on the injured list to begin this season due to an oblique strain, but has progressed well enough to join the lineup just over a month into the campaign.

The biggest question mark heading into this season for Atlanta was how the pitching staff would hold up in the absences of both Strider and fellow young star Spencer Schwellenbach, and up to this point, the staff and bullpen have both done an admirable job of holding down the fort and not surrendering big games to opposing offenses.

Meanwhile, the Braves’ bats have woken up in full force over the last few weeks after a shaky start to the season, giving Atlanta one of the most explosive lineups in the league, even as star Ronald Acuna Jr. continues to try to find his 2023 MVP-level footing.

One Strider and Scwhellenbach are back, the Braves will hope to take yet another step forward and establish their rotation among the best in the MLB.

The Braves are next slated to hit the field on Wednesday evening for the second of three games against the Detroit Tigers.
