Starting Pitcher Aaron Civale Acquired By Chicago White Sox

The Chicago White Sox acquired Starting Pitcher Aaron Civale from the Milwaukee Brewers Friday morning. Milwaukee received First Baseman Andrew Vaughn in the deal. Civale being sent out of town did not come as a shock. He requested a trade after being demoted to the bullpen. He hurt his hamstring in his first start of the season. He was out for nearly two months because of it. It has been a poor season for the veteran pitcher. He is 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA. How will this deal work out for both sides?

How Will Civale Fit With the Chicago White Sox?

After a historically bad 2024 campaign, the Chicago White Sox have struggled again this year. At 23-46, they have the second-worst record in Major League Baseball. Chicago’s pitching staff has not been good this season. They are 23rd in the league in ERA. It is unclear how much Civale will help the unit, if at all. He was having one of the worst seasons of his career with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Final Thoughts

Having last pitched on June 9, Civale should make his debut with the White Sox sooner rather than later. The team begins a three-game series on the road against the Texas Rangers this evening. The veteran pitcher will look to get back on track in the “Windy City.”
