Steven Kwan Pays A Visit To College Campus

Cleveland Guardians Gold Glove outfielder and Rookie of the Year finalist Steven Kwan took a little time out of his day to pay a visit to a college out in Washington State on Thursday.

Last night, the Guardians rookie sensation visited Lower Columbia College and spent some time with the students involved in the baseball program, sharing tips on how to find success as a college player and stay mentally prepared.

The players got a chance to hear from a player with big-league experience.

On Twitter, the Lower Columbia Baseball program posted a picture of Kwan talking to the players and a thank you message to the outfielder for taking the time out of his day to offer guidance to their players.

Kwan Visits College Baseball Program

Kwan finished third in the American League Rookie of the Year voting and was one of four Guardians players to win a Gold Glove, joining Shane Bieber, Andres Gimenez, and Myles Straw.

With a Gold Glove and a top three finish in the Rookie of the Year voting under his belt, the players certainly benefitted from having Kwan there to share his experiences.

Kwan is obviously not far removed from his college days, having played at Oregon State.

The 25-year-old was drafted by the Guardians back in 2018 in the fifth round.

He forced his way onto the Guardians Opening Day roster and quickly took the league by storm, cementing himself as the Guardians leadoff man and everyday left fielder.

The Gold Glover hit .298 with six home runs and 52 RBI during the regular season.
