deGrom faced the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this season and fared well. They are a much different ballclub now, though. They are leading the league in batting average by a wide margin, 14th in home runs, and seventh in runs scored. 

Toronto has also scored 10+ runs three times in its last 10 games. First Baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is putting together another strong campaign. He is in the top 10 in the league in batting average and OPS. The key for deGrom to experience success is to settle in early. If he could get off to a good start, he stands a chance of limiting Toronto’s offensive output.
