There is a widely held debate in sports about whether a bye heading into the playoffs helps or hurts the team that doesn’t have to play.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays are making an emphatic argument that it helps.
After watching the Yankees get by the Boston Red Sox in the American League Wild Card, Vladdy and Co. gave New York a very rude welcome to Toronto in the first two games of the ALDS. The Blue Jays blitzed New York for 22 runs between Games 1 and 2 to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Guerrero Jr. has six total hits and two home runs so far in the series, including an emphatic grand slam in Game 2 to give Toronto a 9-0 lead (that grew to 11) in the fourth inning.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Guerrero Jr. ceded the title of most productive hitter for the Blue Jays to George Springer this season, but still hit an impressive .292 with 23 home runs and 84 RBIs. With that being said, can you name the MLB hitters to post an average of at least .280 in the 2025 season?
Good luck!
