The 1927 Yankees had an unbelievable collection of talent that led them a 110-44 regular-season record and World Series victory. The infamous "Murderers' Row" of Earle Combs, Mark Koenig, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Bob Meusel and Tony Lazzeri put up historic offensive numbers, as the team led the American League by a wide margin in both runs scored and run prevention.

1939 New York Yankees

The 1939 Yankees roster couldn't quite match its 1927 predecessors with a 106-45 regular-season record, but that's no slight on this incredible team. Like the aforementioned 1927 squad, the 1939 Yanks had six future Hall of Famers, including a .381 hitter in Joe DiMaggio, and easily led the AL in both runs scored and run prevention.

The most dominant Packers team ever assembled finished 13-1 behind a record 36 rushing touchdowns from the wheels of Hall of Famer Jim Taylor. They had a 19.1 point average margin of victory and were unstoppable on both sides of the ball.

1970 Brazil World Cup Team

Brazil has compiled some incredible World Cup teams, but the 1970 squad is considered the best. Led be Pele and Jairzinho, Brazil won its third World Cup while cruising through the tournament with six wins.

The only truly undefeated team in the history of the NFL, the Dolphins went 14-0 during the regular season and won all three playoff games. They did have their share of close calls and were helped by an AFC East division that didn't have another team above .500. Still, there is no denying the team's place in football history.

1972 UCLA Bruins Men's Basketball

There will probably never be a college basketball team that can match this squad. The Bruins went 30-0 and had an average margin of victory of more than 30 points per game, led by coach John Wooden and center Bill Walton. The team didn't stop there and went undefeated again in 1973 en route to an 88-game winning streak.

The Steelers drove their historic 1974 draft class, featuring four future Hall of Famers, to the promised land. The Steel Curtain defense allowed only 189 points in 14 regular-season games and only got better as the season progressed.

The Big Red Machine went 108-54 and defeated the Red Sox in a seven-game World Series. The lineup showed incredible talent, led by Joe Morgan's .974 OPS, along with Johnny Bench, Pete Rose and Tony Perez. Manager Sparky Anderson's team won the NL West by 20 games and scored 105 more runs than any other NL team.

1976 Indiana Hoosiers Men's Basketball

The Hoosiers are the last Division I men's team to go undefeated, going 32-0 with a national title. Indiana's historic team had four future NBA first-round picks and seven NBA draftees in all.

The Canadiens went 60-8-12 with a record-breaking 132 points and outscored opponents by 216 goals during the regular season. Their dominance came from an incredible group of talent, with award winners Ken Dryden, Guy Lafleur, Larry Robinson and Steve Shutt on the roster.

On paper, the talent of this high-scoring Oilers squad is unmatched in NHL history. The Oilers finished 57-18-4 with future Hall of Famers Wayne Gretzky, Paul Coffey, Jari Kurri, Mark Messier, Glenn Anderson and goaltender Grant Fuhr. The team's 446 goals that season still stand atop the record books.

A Week 13 loss to Miami was the only thing that kept this Bears team from perfection. The Bears had one of the most dominant defenses in NFL history, allowing only 198 points during the regular season in coordinator Buddy Ryan's 46 defensive scheme. The team famous for the Super Bowl Shuffle had four First-Team All-Pros.

The best Celtics team of the Larry Bird era, this squad went 67-15 and 40-1 at the Garden on its way to the organization's 16th championship. The team featured Hall of Famer Bill Walton as the sixth man and boasted four Hall of Famers among the starting five.

Laker fans enjoyed watching "Showtime" at the Forum every night, with a 65-17 regular-season record behind Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and James Worthy. A truly elite offensive squad, the Lakers prevailed against the rival Celtics in the NBA Finals.

Coach Scotty Bowman led a talented Penguins roster that included Mario Lemieux, Kevin Stevens and Jaromir Jagr to the second Stanley Cup in as many years. The talented offensive squad led the league with 343 goals and flexed its muscle against the Minnesota North Stars in the Stanley Cup Final.

1992 USA Basketball Dream Team

Perhaps the most talented team ever assembled in any sport, the original Dream Team cruised to a gold medal in the 1992 Summer Olympics. Opponents stood in awe of the USA's collection of future Hall of Famers, and the team's closest game was a 32-point victory over Croatia in the gold medal match. Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson and company set the standard for all future USA Olympic teams.

How 'bout them Cowboys?! This Cowboys team started the season 0-2 but still finished 12-4 on the way to back-to-back Super Bowl victories. The offensive flare was led by Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin, but also Daryl Johnston, Jay Novacek and an immensely talented offensive line.

1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers Football

Coach Tom Osborne's Huskers scored no fewer than 35 points in any game with a dominant rushing attack that included Ahman Green, Lawrence Phillips and quarterback Tommie Frazier. Nebraska cemented it national title with a 62-24 win over Florida in the Fiesta Bowl.

The 1995-96 Bulls set the NBA wins record at the time by going 72-10. The core of the team included Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman, and the Bulls won their fourth title in six seasons by beating Seattle in the Finals.

1996 Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball

The 34-2 Wildcats from 1996 eventually sent 11 players to the NBA, most notably Antoine Walker. They beat Syracuse to win the school's sixth men's title, and some of the roster remained when Kentucky won its seventh title two years later.

The 1998 Yankees team trails only the 1906 Cubs and 2001 Mariners in regular-season wins, but unlike those squads, the Yankees finished the job in the postseason. They easily led the MLB in both runs scored and run prevention, though the only surefire Hall of Famers on the roster were Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.

Sure, the Patriots were upset by the Giants in Super Bowl XLII, but the 2007 team was truly a scoring juggernaut, the likes of which we may never see again. The Pats featured a record-breaking offense that helped them go perfect during the regular season, averaging 36.8 points per game with a 19.7-point average margin of victory. Their offensive records included Tom Brady's 50 touchdown passes and Randy Moss's 23 touchdown receptions.

2010 UConn Huskies Women's Basketball

Coach Geno Auriemma led the Huskies to a record-breaking 90-game winning streak over three seasons, including a 39-0 record in 2010. Their lowest margin of victory during the 2010 regular season was 14 points, and the Huskies finished off the season with a six-point victory vs. Stanford in the National Championship.

NBA Finals or not, the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors are one of the greatest teams of all time. Following up a championship with a bull's eye on their backs, the Dubs broke the '95-'96 Bulls' record of 72 wins, going 73-9 on the season. In addition, Stephen Curry won his second straight NBA MVP, Draymond Green became a star and Klay Thompson continued to shine. Oh, and they did all this with coach Steve Kerr sidelined early in the year, with new Lakers head coach Luke Walton steering the ship in Kerr's absence. Impressive stuff whether or not this team is able to repeat.
