After missing the playoffs in 2025 despite signing Juan Soto, the New York Mets have majorly overhauled their roster. One of the biggest incoming pieces is former Milwaukee Brewers-ace Freddy Peralta, who they acquired via trade this offseason.

The Mets sent minor leagues Brandon Sproat and Jett Williams to Milwaukee for Peralta, who is eligible for free agency for the first time in his career this offseason.

Peralta has eight years of Major League experience under his belt, and he led the National League with 17 wins in 33 starts in 2025, striking out 204 batters in 176 ⅔ innings with a 2.70 ERA.
