The 'ALCS MVPs' quiz

Happy 41st birthday to the first-overall pick of the 2003 MLB Draft, 2012 American League Championship Series MVP and 10-year MLB veteran, Delmon Young!

After getting selected with the top pick of the Amateur Draft in 2003 out of Adolfo Camarillo High School in California, he made his Big League debut with Tampa Bay in 2006. After playing just 30 games in that season, he played all 162 for Tampa in their 2007 and hit .288 with 13 home runs and 93 RBI.

He was traded to Minnesota following the 2007 campaign, where he’d spend the next 3+ seasons before getting dealt to Detroit in 2011. That would prove to be a smart move, as he helped the Tigers reach the World Series in 2012, going 6-for-17 with two home runs, six RBI and two walks in their ALCS sweep of the New York Yankees. Young was also productive despite getting swept by the Giants in the 2012 World Series, adding another five hits and a homer. 

Young played three more seasons, spending time in Philadelphia and Baltimore with a return to Tampa in there as well. He retired after the 2015 season in which he played just 52 games for the Orioles.
