The 'MLB Live-Ball Era strikeout leaders' quiz

After spending 18 years as a starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw announced he is retiring at the end of the 2025 MLB season.

The 37-year-old left-hander has nothing left to prove in his career, winning two World Series titles, three Cy Young awards, five ERA titles, a Gold Glove and a pitching triple crown. He’s also going to retire with the 20th-most strikeouts in his career and fourth amongst lefty pitchers, and with just one regular season start remaining in his career, he’ll be credited with fewer than 100 losses in 450 starts.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Heading into the final regular season start of his career, Kershaw has punched-out 3,039 MLB hitters. With that being said, can you name every MLB pitcher with at least 2,500 career strikeouts in the Live-Ball Era?

Good luck!
