The 'Most HRs in one World Series' quiz

Los Angeles Dodgers and Shohei Ohtani fans alike got bad news earlier this week after the two-way phenomenon experienced “regression,” in his knee injury that has kept him off of the pitcher’s mound since July 3. 

But he’s still pulling his weight with the bat, and despite the Dodgers 7-6 loss to the Mariners on July 28, he hit yet another leadoff home run. The dinger moved him into a tie for second place with Davey Lopes for the most in a single season and he’s now just four behind teammate Mookie Betts for the most leadoff blasts in franchise history. 

Ohtani is batting .286 with 23 home runs and 64 RBI and was a dominant force on the bump as well – posting a miniscule 1.79 ERA with 95 strikeouts in 85 2/3 innings over 14 starts. Even without him in the rotation for almost a month already, the L.A. still has a strangle-hold on the National League West with an 11.5-game lead. 

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Even if Ohtani doesn’t throw another ball this season, the Dodgers are still in very good shape to defend their back-to-back World Series titles with his bat in the lineup.
