Happy birthday to the late, great Chicago Cubs legend Ryne Sandberg!
Sandberg played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball, 15 of which he played second base for the Cubs. In his time at Wrigley he made 10 All-Star games, won nine Gold Gloves, seven Silver Sluggers and was named the National League MVP in 1984. When he retired in 1997, Sandberg racked up 2,386 hits, 1,061 RBI and 282 home runs.
“Ryno,” was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005, and passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer this year.
Sandberg is one of the most iconic Cubs in franchise history, and his statue outside of Wrigley Field will help ensure he’s remembered by generations of fans to come.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Just three Cubs have been named MVP since Sandberg won the award in 1984. With that being said, how many of the National League MVPs can you name in six minutes?
Good luck!
