The Detroit Tigers have placed center fielder Parker Meadows on the injured list after he was hospitalized following a scary collision with Riley Greene in the outfield on Thursday. He has been diagnosed with a broken left arm as well as a concussion.
“We don’t know if anything more is going to be required — surgery or anything like that,” Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Friday, per the Detroit Free Press. “He needs multiple appointments to figure out what’s next for him, but he has a long road to recovery.”
Meadows also needed five stitches in his left cheek after the collision.

After being carted off the field, Meadows was sent to a hospital overnight for observation. While Meadows sustained several injuries, Greene got out rather unscathed.
“It’s a terrible feeling. I still feel terrible,” Greene said postgame. “He hit my head. I don’t know where I hit him, to be honest, but I just really hope he’s OK.”
The injury comes as the Tigers fall to 4-9 on the season after a 2-0 start.
