The Detroit Tigers got back on a winning track Thursday night with a 4-1 win over the Orioles in Baltimore that included a masterful performance from ace Tarik Skubal followed by an inning each from Tommy Kahnle and Will Vest.

Skubal's seven-inning shutdown performance was the culmination of an incredible three-game stretch that has amped up talks of a second consecutive Cy Young for the Tigers superstar headed toward the All-Star Break.

The Tigers have now won five of their last nine games, a solid but unspectacular stretch that the team will look to build upon this coming weekend.

On Thursday night, fans couldn't stop talking about Skubal.

"Ladies and gentlemen, TAARIK SKUBAL," MLB wrote on X.

"His last 4 stars: 30.2IP 1 ER 0.29 ERA 32/2 K/BB," they added, detailing Skubal's incredible three-game stretch.

The Tigers star pitched seven scoreless innings on Thursday, giving up three hits and striking out six batters as his run of dominance continued.

"That Skubal guy is pretty good at baseball!" one fan said

"If (Yankees star Aaron) Judge wasn't so good, he'd have a shot at MVP," another said

"Just give him Cy Young," another added

Skubal's forthcoming contract extension has become a hot topic lately. One fan clamored for the Tigers to give their ace a "blank check" for his recent efforts.

Another fan called his performances "insane."

"Newsflash to any AL pitcher other than Skubal thinking they can win the Cy Young. You can't," another fan said on X as the comments continued to pour in.
