The Minnesota Twins' 2025 season hasn't quite gone to plan so far. The team holds a record of 7-14 for the season, and they have struggled to find any sort of consistency this year.
This has led many to believe that they could be very active at the upcoming MLB trade deadline. Minnesota has plenty of talent on its roster, making the slow start even more confusing.
But due to the talent on the team, the Twins may look to unload some players for younger prospects. One player who has had their name on the trade market of late is former All-Star infielder Carlos Correa.
Correa has been with the Twins for a few seasons, but he still has a large contract due. Minnesota could look to shed his salary and send him elsewhere at the deadline.
Tim Kelly of Bleacher Report listed Correa as a top trade candidate ahead of the deadline.
"With that said, Minnesota is off to a brutal start, and it's clear that building its lineup around three injury-plagued stars—Correa, Byron Buxton and Royce Lewis—probably isn't going to be a winning formula. If there's a chance to trade Correa's remaining contract and get a decent return, the Twins might jump on it."
For the season, Correa has had a slow start. Through 20 games played, Correa is hitting just .191 with one home run and five RBIs.
It has been a struggle for Correa, and it seems that the Twins may be ready to move on. It could be a challenge to move Correa's contract, but he does have a strong postseason resume that some teams may be willing to take a chance on.
